Our client’s property
Our client’s property is a delightful detached villa, sitting on an elevated position with spectacular views of the Firth of Forth.
The Brief
Having extended a house with what could be described as one of the finest views in Scotland, our clients were looking for a kitchen and living space that would help them enjoy the panoramic views at all times of the year. David L Douglas was approached to design, create and install a new kitchen that would provide the focal point in the newly extended space.
The Solution
Our clients entrusted the David L Douglas design team to develop creative concepts for the project. Working closely with our design team, a solution was created that maximised the space available with innovative storage options.
The design of the furniture centres on a contemporary blend of painted and naturally lacquered European Oak; crafted in a sleek flat panel horizontal grain style with integrated handle. The painted cabinetry was finished in Farrow & Ball’s Borrowed Light.
Other key details of the project included integrated appliances, 38mm square-edge whitecap Corian worktops complete with drainer grooves. The layout also included a 4-drawer pull-out larder finished full height; providing not only effective storage but also a stunning piece of furniture in the room.
The Result
Our clients commented: “We had known about David L Douglas for a long time. When we decided to have our new kitchen created we knew that David L Douglas would be the provider of choice for this project.”
